The Rules of the Forum

Please read this thread before posting. If anyone breaks these rules I will not be happy with them and they will recieve a warning. I don't like giving warnings to people, so just read the rules, follow them, and we'll all be happy.

I divided this into a short version and a long version. The short version doesn't elaborate on much, but it covers everything very quickly. The longer version is very specific, but it is much longer. You don't have to read both, but please read at least one of them.

Below this is the "Warning System." This is what happens if a person's warning reaches x%.

1% - Your custom title is replaced with a warning title. You'll get it back for free once the warning is gone.
5% - You lose your custom color, and you cannot get either the color or the custom title back for free.
10% - 3 day temporary ban
20% - 3 day temporary ban
30% - 1 week temporary ban
40% - 1 week temporary ban
50% - banned

The Short Version

1.) No Flaming.
2.) No spamming
3.) Post in the right forum.
4.) Don't revive dead topics for no reason. Anyone can post in any topic on the first page, stickies, or any link in stickies with no penalty.
5.) Don't back-seat mod. If someone is breaking the rules just PM a moderator.
6.) Please hide spoilers. More info can be found in the long version of the rules.
7.) Follow the Proboards Terms of Service. Remember, if I don't follow that the forum gets delted. >_< This includes:
- Keep things PG-13. Don't post links to porn or anything like that.
-Don't talk about illegal things. That includes fansubs and manga scans (I'm sorry about that one v_v)
-Don't promote illegal drugs, or other things people around the age of 13 shouldn't know about.
-Just read the TOS dammit.

The Long Version

1.) No flaming: This should be obvious.
-Don't be mean to someone for the purpose of being mean. If someone makes a mistake poking fun is okay, but don't be bitter and hateful. There's really no need for that. :-/

-Don't be mean if someone posted in the wrong forum. Mistakes happen.
-Don't gang up on other members. Here is a nice example:
On one forum I moderated one member actually made a petition to get another banned. You have no idea how pissed I was when I found out. Don't do anything like that. It's really crass and it just makes you look stupid.

2.) Don't spam:
-This includes useless posts like "XD" or "heh." Remember, just because it's okay on an IM chat does not mean it's okay in a forum.
-Flooding the forum with spam posts pisses me off greatly. For the love of God don't do it. D: It takes forever to clean up and it irritates everyone: not just me.
-Going off-topic on purpose also goes under this (for lack of a better place). I realize sometimes thread topics change based on what's said, so I won't lock topics for that. Here's a nice little example to make things clear:
The thread is discussing cheese. Don't pop in and say, "I like beef jerky." That has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Now if someone said, "Have any of you tried beef jerky in cheese?" then you could say, "I love beef jerky."
-Don't double post. Bumping is okay after 12 hours, but don't double post before that. Just use the modify (or erase in this case XD) button and modify your post instead.
-Spam is okay in "Toys and Gams" (AKA forum games), but it's not completely spammy spam. It's meant for forum games. Remember that. XD

3.) Post in the right forum: Another obvious one, I don't even feel the need to go into detail here.

4.) Don't revive dead topics for no reason:
-It's okay if you actually have something meaningful to say. Just don't post in the cheese topic (again as an example) to say "I love cheese." You can post in it if you have a big discussion planned like, "Did you know recent studies show that eating cheese actually helps your colon?" Yeah, my examples are lame, but you get the idea.
-You post in a sticky regardless of when the last day it was posted in.
-You can post in any thread on the first page regardless of when the last posted in.
-You can post in any thread that is linked to in a sticky regardless of when it was last posted in.

5.) Don't back-seat mod:
-If someone is breaking the rules just PM a staff member and they'll take care of it. Don't post in the thread saying "Dear mod: Please lock this." That just bumps the topic and we don't need that now do we?

6.) Please hide spoilers:
-Be respectful to those who haven't finished the series. They deserve to be surpised too.
-Here's how to use the spoiler code:
You can either just type in:
spoiler /spoiler with the brackets (AKA []) around them and the spoiler text in the center.

Or you could do this and let people know what chapter/episode/whatever the spoiler is from:

spoiler=-insert title here- /spoiler Again with the brackets around them (kind of like the [img][/img] tags)*

Your final option is to simply put SPOILERS in the topic title. You do not have to hide any spoilers in that thread if SPOILERS is in the title.

Either is fine. Just hide spoilers please.
-Also hide spoilers for non-Death Note realated things as well.

7.) Follow the Proboards Terms of Service. This includes:
-Be at least 13.
-Keep it PG-13: No porn, nudity, or any other form of adult content.
-Don't promote illegal things. This (sadly) includes fansubs and scans. Don't talk about them, don't post links to where you can get them if someone asks. Don't do anything related to illegal drugs or anything else illegal either.
-Post in English. You can add bits of foriegn languages here and there, just remember that this is an English speaking site.

*For those wondering why I can't just post the code it's because it's being very evil on my. Even if I put random spaces and stuff in the code it still shows what the spoiler code would look like if there were no spaces. Sorry for the confusion.
